Heather is a mixed media artist focused on found and reclaimed objects. She explores an intuitive and emotive approach to painting, collage, textiles and assemblage. She is inspired by aged items with stories and the natural magic of the forest.
Mixed media is a wild playground. Nothing predetermined. Just spontaneous layering, smudging, mess making. Take a step back and there might be some beautiful things happening. Heather's themes gravitate towards the adventurous, whimsical, soulful and ancient.
ORIGIN
The moss grew round the stump like a great wizard beard and the tiny mushrooms opened like ears that could hold secrets so when the finch came she smiled and sang him a song and the forest never forgot it
